John Foster has been an environmentalist since the 1970s.

He has worked in education, public administration and environmental-social research, and has taught philosophy to undergraduates and school students (Year 6 to Sixth Form) for the past 25 years.

John is married with three grown-up children and three grandsons. He lives in the North Cumbrian hills where he enjoys walking and thinking (and can still sometimes do both at once).
